Biografie

Martin Menten joined the AIM-lab as a postdoctoral researcher in 2021. He is also a researcher in the BioMedIA group at Imperial College London. His research explores the use of unsupervised learning and generative modeling to solve applied problems in healthcare. In particular, he is interested in the analysis of ophthalmological images to advance the understanding and treatment of age-related macular degeneration, the leading cause of blindness in the elderly. Before joining the lab of Professor Rueckert, Martin received his PhD in physics from the Institute of Cancer Research in 2019. There, he researched strategies to adapt external beam radiotherapy to anatomical changes in real-time to increase cure rates and reduce side effects of cancer treatments.
